Thoughts about art and the world

Art as a form of prayer

These times that we live can either bring us to despair or elevate us to reach within ourselves to create new works. I choose to do the latter (although, it’s sometimes difficult not to be distracted by the noise of the world).  A recent Call for Artists -  Sanctuary for Spirituality - challenged me to look at how my faith influences my art. I realized that the themes I choose and the colors I paint really do represent how I see the world around me.

Both Building the new world . . . together and Colors of Abiquiu Lake convey my deep longing for a peaceful, loving world where people, animals and plants live in harmony with one another.
